These photos are a visual description of some of the museum jobs I've had. Feel free to peruse and enjoy!
  • While working as a tour guide for the Bell Museum of Natural History, I taught kids about this hognose snake at the Minnesota State Fair.
  • As an undergraduate, I worked with moth specimens from 4 different museum collections. I created a family tree (phylogeny) for the genus Viviennea.
  • One of my favorite jobs was being a docent at the Schubert Club's musical instrument museum in St. Paul.
  • As a graduate student, I work in the entomology collection at the University of Colorado. One of my major activities is curating the grasshopper collection.
  • Of course, no museum work is complete without data entry! Here I'm databasing the grasshopper collection with a program called Biota.
  • A close-up of the barcodes I use to database the insects at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History.
  • Darwin Day 2010! I helped make finch hats on Family Day at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History.
  • This little guy was so proud that he made his own hat! (Darwin Day 2010, University of Colorado Museum of Natural History)
  • Tying string is often the hardest part for kids, so I helped out with that on Darwin Day 2010 (University of Colorado Museum of Natural History).
  • Darwin Day 2010 (University of Colorado Museum of Natural History)
  • This girl was great! She spent over an hour making her elaborate finch hat! (Darwin Day 2010, University of Colorado Museum of Natural History)
