    The Wells Fargo History Museum in Minneapolis is seeking a Part Time Museum Assistant with 6+ months of experience in one or a combination of the following: museum services, historical services, marketing, or customer service to work in our Heritage Marketing and Museum division.  The museum is located at 90 South 7th Street and does not offer relocation assistance. 

    The Museum Assistant will serve as an ambassador for Wells Fargo heritage and brand. This team member should be a self-starter and have an inviting and friendly approach greeting and educating our museum guests.  They will assist with the day-to-day operation of the museums and must ensure quality, efficiency, and the highest professional standards and museum practices. . 

    Additional Responsibilities Include:

    • Prepare and deliver education programs and tours to help visitors gain a better understanding and appreciation of Wells Fargo’s rich history
    • Greet visitors, provide information, and answer questions pertaining to Wells Fargo History including Gold Rush, stagecoach, and regional history
    • Provide day-to-day operational support, including answering the phone, performing retail duties for small museum gift shop, clerical duties, and light housekeeping
    • Assist with special museum events as needed

    The Wells Fargo History Museum is free and open to the public 5 days a week from 9:00am to 5:00pm.  The position is part-time, will work an average of 24 hours per week and therefore eligible for most Wells Fargo benefits. Parking is not provided.

    The Wells Fargo History Museum interprets the history of Wells Fargo since its founding in 1852 as a bank and express company including the gold rush, pony express, and stagecoach.   Exhibits include an original Concord Coach, artifacts and early photos, a working telegraph, and a replica of the Northwestern National Bank Weatherball. 


    Required Qualifications
    • 6+ months of experience in one or a combination of the following: museum services, historical services, marketing, or customer service
       
    Other Desired Qualifications
    • Daily interaction with the public in a service oriented position
    • Experience presenting educational programs/teaching to a variety of audiences
    • Experience with emerging technologies, including social media
    • Experience with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Exposure to and understanding of professional museum standards, ethics, and practices
    • Experience working with children
    • Understanding of US History
    • Retail experience
